With a title like "When biometrics fail"

Just to clarify, I work in the biometrics industry, and the book was not bought from Amazon.
With a title like "When biometrics fail", I was hoping to see something along the lines of "what can we learn from our mistakes", not read about the movie Minority Report, or what some people "think" about biometrics without hard evidence or data.
The author is trying to convince the reader that biometrics is just the new giant tech monster that will destroy humanity. Which is fair enough, biometrics is not a panacea but I would just like to see some solutions, some data, and less philosophical debate. Plus, I believe there are far more terrifying and somewhat legal concepts to make that argument for.
The book would hit the spot for Philosophy or Arts students trying to make the case versus biometric technologies.
Technologists and people interested in the biometric landscape that wish to learn something more might wish to refrain from buying this.

the book is very subjective and proposes no solutions

I have mixed feelings of the book.
the book is trying to describe when biometric fails. however the content is not well balanced. in fact there are many examples when biometric suceeds (by bringing economical benefits, increasing security, or bringing comfort for users), however almost none is mentioned. a reader who is not familiar with the world of biometrics may come to a conclusion that biometrics fails at all.
next, the book is almost exclusively focused on U.S., which is again not very well balanced when so much biometric projects are deployed in the developing coutries.
next drawback of the book is that it describes "a problem", but provides no solution.
finally, the autor is trying to "doom" the biometrics companies as pure evil, which sounds good, but i am afraid is far from reality.
what I find positive in the book is that is provides compact overview on history of digital biometrics (in the U.S.). apart from that, there is not much to praise.
I am employed in field of biometrics, so my opinion is very subjective.
